Windsurfing
OMWC events at Worthing usually coincide with weekends when the tide is pre-dominantly low during the days. This is so we can take advantage of some fairly extensive shallow water to practice beach starts or 'cheat' at those elusive water starts! The wind is usually, cross-on, making it a relatively safe open-sea venue. Beware, however, when the wind picks up, so do the waves making Worthing a venue suitable for intermediates and advanced sailors. You will need to be pretty slick at fast beach start launches if daring to venture out at high tide on a windy day - an activity best avoided by most!
Parking
We windsurf from the pay and display car park sandwiched between Worthing Yacht Club and Eirene Road. Watch your skegs and mountain bikes on the entrance height restriction. Arrive early to be sure of a spot near the water, else drop your kit off and park in the street, which is free.
Facilities
There are loos, a pub and an excellent cafe all close by. The nearest windsurf shop is Surfladle in Shoreham.

Just for the record, I would suggest that Worthing is by far at its best during neap tides. That way there's never too far to walk or conversely the shoredump is generally quite well behaved even at high tide.
