More of the same. A lovely late afternoon/evening sail in the sunshine well powered up and blasting about.

A lovely sail well powered up in the sunshine! More than made up for missing out yesterday.

As there was no sign of life coming from Christchurch and also because I don't know the area at all to be stuck there on my own (with 2 young guns), we ended up on Hayling Island.

Forecast was not very promising but after a cool and cloudy morning, the sun shone, the tide went out and the wind picked up. Beautiful afternoon to sail in, with the kids watching a film in the tent (after having spent the morning climbing rocks, windsurfing, swimming and splashing in the high-tide shore dump - so I am not a bad parent!).

Packed up as the sun went down. Broke all previous records having spent 9 hours on the beach!

A brief sail at Lepe on Sunday afternoon. It was windy, but the combination of Solent chop and a strong outgoing tide made it an interesting sail. Good crowd though and a good day.

Sunday morning was fun, watching the start of the Fastnet race coming past Lepe, great atmosphere.
Saturday I met up with non-windsurfing friends - "no, honestly I'm not missing anything at the beach" grrr.

Friday evening I tried desparately for an afterwork sail, but a combination of M3 jams and nowhere to park at Hillhead (where did all these people come from) made it impossible.

So, on balance another great summer weekend, although not quite enough time on water.
