Windsurfing
Another south-east venue where we try to ensure low tides for most of the weekend due to the potentially hazardous shore dump at high tide. The beach is on a straight section of coast and can therefore receive the full power of the wind; with the prevailing southwesterlies being cross-on. The venue is renowned for its waves, which are very surfable when the tide is low. Good intermediates or experts only if the wind is blowing hard. The club often stays in Brighton for a livelier night out when visiting Shoreham.
Has a remarkable sea breeze effect in summer, given the right conditions, so that it can be great sailing here while stifling and still elsewhere.
Parking
Next to the beach, just 80p per day last time I was there. Sheltered by a huge bank from the wind on the beach, so select your rig carefully!
Facilities
Toilets and a small kiosk. Surfladle windsurf shop is just a 10 minute walk.
