Exmouth has two main sailing areas, the main beach on Queens Road, and the Duckpond. Obviously, being an estuary, the tides and currents can be a bit interesting, so pick the right time to go to either spot!

Queens Road - aim for wind against tide, does work in a NW though, which is ok for tide coming in, and one of the few spots on the S Devon coast that does.

Duckpond - high tide only!! This is another of those shallow flat water mudpools that people seem to like so much, especially kiters. Probably great for blasting if it's windy, also works in Northerly-ish winds. Head for the station, and it's round the back with pretty good parking right by the large concrete wall to the water which presumably stops the regular tsunamis that roll in from Dartmoor... Do I sound unenthusiastic?
