Arrived at the beach - southerly wind so felt more windy than it was. Lots of people saying that it was disappointing etc. However, Beth, Bill and I headed out anyway and had great fun in the waves.

Windy saturday at Bramblebush Bay

Southerly wind, bit of an odd direction for Bramblebush, there's a wind shadow until you get past Gerry's Point. I went for big kit (same as everyone else) but once I was past the point could easlily have been on 5.5

Good fun and good crowd, but hard work.

Well, it could have been windier but was great to get out on the water at last (if only briefly).

Nice & warm & of course, good company.

Bramblebush is still a lovely venue & it nearly delivered !

Not much wind forecast so was pleasantly surprised when I looked out of the window. Headed to the beach and there was wind! Had good fun even though it was a bit bumpy - eventually wind picked up a notch and was a bit overpowered so decided to call it a day. Lovely to be still in summer suit in the sunshine.

Lovely sunday morning sail at Bramblebush

5.8 was about right, although (as usual) could have been on smaller sail in the middle. Great fun and great company. Shame I had to pack up so early - but then it's unusual for me to have other committments.

Let's hop the windy season continues.

Headed down to Westward Ho Friday night. Slept on route and woke up feeling lousy but carried on to the beach anyway. Cross shore 5m weather with 8-10ft waves but felt to rough to give it a go. Feeling better on Sunday, waves still big but cross on and lighter wind, had a go before high tide with 6.3m on 95ltr board, several attempts to get through the white water but seemed no end to them, walked back upwind a few times then waited for the tide to change for another go. Wind was lighter so went out on same sail with 127ltr board, got on a bit better and rode a few waves but still underpowered and all a bit of a struggle. Hung around for Monday as forecast was a decent cross shore wind but nothing happened and it just rained all day......gave up and went home, bit of a wasted journey to be honest and not much fun.
