Pevensey

Just to the north-east of Eastbourne, Pevensey Bay is typical of most other south-east coast venues, except that the beach actually faces south-east, making westerlies off-shore. This reduces the severity of the shore dump at high tide (which we try to avoid anyway). The beaches have the usual Sussex features - steeply shelving pebble embankment over its upper reaches, giving way to a flatter sandy foreshore and shallow water at low tide. Windsurfing conditions are very similar at both the venues we visit in Pevensey.

Town (Cooden Beach)

Parking
The car park is cheap and on the edge of the beach but it is also almost in the town centre and not very big so it fills up very quickly. There is not much alternative parking near-by.

Facilities
Loos next to the car park and several cafes and chip shops all close by. Nearest shop is miles away so do not break anything!

Camp Site

Parking
A bit easier than in the town centre, park on the road wherever you can.
Facilities
Minimal
