Got to Poole Sandbanks about 11.30, raining, little or no wind, no sign of OMWC life, in fact little sign of any life... Went to shop, bought new summer wetsuit. Came back to van to find Carl - yay!! And the day continued wet, windless and generally dank and dreary, apart from the excellent company of C&J, which continued to be the only OMWC showing. Spent the evening eating and listening to live music at the Avon Beach Cafe, which was pretty good.
A different deal altogether. Adrian Cushing showed up first, then Mike Pringuer called and arrived. Adrian had already targeted sailing in the harbour to accompany some friends, but Mike stumped for the Sandbanks beach (and sandbank). Then the ubiquitous C&M arrived :) goodie. Wind ok, but massively gusty on the harbour, everyone went biggish (6.5-5.8) but struggled a bit in the huge gusts. Carl and I changed down towards the end of the day to save our faces from the splatting into the kit, but it was still mega-gusty. Sunny? Yup. Windy? Yup. Worth going? Double Yup.
Where were you all???

Till next time

I've never seen the harbour this gusty - the wind changed from the top of a force six to the bootom of a three every few yards.
