Saturday
After a dull morning, the sun finally came out, the wind appeared and a few of us were rewarded for the wait. John, Alan, Robert, myself and Marion all got out for an afternoon's sail mostly on around 6 metre sails. The wind eventually died, leaving us to wobble/swim back in, apart from Alan who was a long way out and picked up a passing "sea taxi". In the evening we were joined by a few latecomers and nine of us enjoyed a tasty chinese takeaway washed down with a few good drinks.
Sunday
Sunny but windless for most of the day, the wind arrived briefly and Robert managed a few good runs on an 8 metre, but 15 minutes later it had dissapeared again. Fortunately, the RNLI had laid on entertainment with their fun day. We spent the rest of the day sat around watching the helicopter air displays, stunt planes, novelty raft races up the run and had a generally lazy day in the sunshine at the beach.
