As predicted if the weather was horrible then there was a good chance of wind, and yes the weather was horrible.

Still the wind was there and 6.0 were about the right size sail for the day, although Adrian was doing very well on a 5.3. It seems strange to sail at Lee on the Solent on port tack, but that is what we had. Still the ramps were there and it was even possible to get the odd top turn in.

Adrian was nursing a shoulder injury, so only sailed from 10.00 till mid afternoon. the rest of the gang launched from between 12 and 2 and were off the water by 4. I guess we had just had enough of the rain. although John G was slightly less flattering with his description of us all.

Due to the northerly and heavy rain forecast most people headed home rather than stay for a pint. The remaining few being just ourselves opted for takeway at home instead of the original plan of visiting the Golden Bowler.

Sunday was pretty much non-existent due to the rotten forecast and we disappeared to some were warm and wet, the local pool. Apologies if any one turned up when were not there.

Good day!! Not the most auspicious in respect of weather - rain, cloud sweeping in, brief periods of increased lightness to tempt one into thinking it was breaking, but no - great sailing however. I can't believe how exhilarating it is to be banging upwind into the rain, clattering across the chop, when everyone else in the world is hiding indoors, watching the footie or eating crisps. We were eating crisps in Monks Hill car park, courtesy of a shivering Jonathan L, and then going out and doing it all over again! Loving it...

brrrrrr! Is it really late August? Fine on the water but it was certainly a mistake to hang around on the beach in a summer suit!
Onshore and grey - even the locals were giving it a miss today - but at least there was some wind. Wished I had used a smaller board as it was pretty lumpy.

Nice to get out in a decent bit of wind with everyone, even if it was raining all day. Dunno why everyone was complaining of the cold I was warm as toast in my winter suit (thanks for the tip off Helen).

Thanks also to Nick & Sarah for their hospitality and a great curry at "The Swordfish".

A light Northerly semed to be all that was on offer for Sunday, so we stayed nearer to home and went for an afternoon sail in Christchurch Harbour. It was warmer and drier than Saturday, although the direction and light wind meant it was basically rubbish.
