I was down fairly late, saw people packing up as the wind dropped at Hillhead, so went straight to Titchfield Haven / Nature Reserve which was much better. The wind was still gusty and gradually dropped off but at least it was unimpeded across Southampton Water. Loads of people out in flat water and sunshine - it could almost have been a summer event!

Arrived late, not surprising as we live the nearest to Titchfield Haven. So i riggd up as every one elese was coming off the water. Slightly underpowered to start with but the wind picked up a notch after the first few runs leaving me comfortably powered up and with most of the solent to play in with only 1 other board and 2 kites.

Well they call it "chase the wind" and thats sort of what we did. After a visit to Lee on Solent, then Hillhead, we eventually settled on Meon Valley which was perfect cross / cross on, sunny, warm and plenty of people out.

Went down to Hayling Esso Beach to meet with Juan, also Bill, Heather and Mike T, not to speak of half the population of southern England! Rigged a 4.7 on my tiddley board, had a couple of runs, great fun, then the wind dropped. Fetched the 91l from across the road (parking nightmare) but the wind dropped further. Had a cup of coffee (cheers Cathy) and left. Damn. Where the hell is Meon Valley? Good to see Juan though, the babes are doing fine!

You wont believe this but I was Early Tate for a change! (Doesn't have the right ring does it!) Due to high tide at Esso Beach being 11.30 ish we needed to be there before 9.30 to get a parking place - and yes I just got the last spot. Had a leisurely breakfast watching some epic conditions building and eventually got out about 11.30. Had a brilliant if a little taxing hour on the water before someone switched the wind off - leaving me stranded on my sinker with rather a long walk. Or was it the arrival of John and Huan that caused the wind to drop??! Still it was good to see Huan again (only a fortnight after he was let out for the Poole/Avon beach event!) not to mention Heather and Bill, Trevor Jones, John Gouk of course.
Sunday was almost a repeat of Saturday although the wind wasn't as strong, dying altogether by middayish. Ex member steve Beamish was there both Saturday and Sunday but despite being rigged and ready to go both days didnt get a sail as the wind dropped both days just he was rigged and ready to go - talk about sick as a parrott!!!
