Hiya- brief bit about me.....
I love windsurfing but have not managed to get out much lately due to the arrival of Xavier (2 yrs 7 months) and Finian (5 months).... it doesnt help having a windsurfing partner (Lawrence) whose philosophy is 'whoever rigs up first- goes out first'!!
Im hoping that 2008 is the start of lots of windsurfing- so bring on the wind! I sail an F2 Air 115l (which I adore- Ive just bought a spare one off ebay in case I break the nose again!). My ability is/was medium-ish... Ive been trying to carve gybe for the past couple of years- still havent got it! I tend to sail out from the beach- casually fall in- waterstart- sail back to the beach- step off board- pretend to look at my kit as though something needs to be adjusted- beachstart- sail off again and repeat. This way- I havent needed to do any turning. One day......... (as long as I learn to carve gybe before my boys!).
Lawrence and I are looking at getting a van (have been looking for a couple of years- but requirements keep changing due to enlarging family)- so we can join in with more OMWC events. Currently we take 2 cars to the beach- 1 with windsurfing kit, and 1 with children/toys/buggy etc.., we tend to go to Hillhead- as its closest and we both love it- plus there are good play facilities for Xavier.
Other hobbies include travelling the world (obviously slightly limited at the moment), and mountain biking (particularly night-rides - I find its more exciting when you cant see where you are going). When Im not on maternity leave- I teach children with special needs.
