The sun was shining the sky was brilliant blue the wind was...well..windy. Saturday I was nicely powered up on a 4.4 the guys - Andrew and (not so late) Tate, followed later by Wolfgang - on 5m, Sunday slightly larger to start with but we wished we'd stuck with the Saturday choice. A few locals were out but there was lots of wide open space to blast in.

Heather's mum gave us the use of her beach hut and provided endless flasks of hot water.

Change of plan for Saturday evening - Wolfgang invited us all to his mum's for a brillliant barbeque.

You couldn't have asked for a better weekend - shame many of you couldn't make it!!!!

Excellent sail at windy wavy Worthing. Started on 5.5 and got way overpowered (well someone had to be the guinia pig), changed down to 4.7 and smaller board and had an excellent afternoon. Sailed with Mike T and Audrey, but where was everyone else ??

Wolfgang showed up later and we all retired to Wofgang's mums house for a really good bbq. Same again next year please.

I could only make Saturday this weekend but what a Saturday! Worthing certainly came up with the goods this year - as indeed it has a habit of so doing! Well done Audrey - and good to see you well and truly back in the groove again! Also good to see Andy Barnes after a long absence - not to mention Wolfgang - what a star putting on another excellent inpromptu BBQ. A most enjoyable evening - many thanks. Only sorry I couldn't stay for the excellent sailing that was in the offing for Sunday - hope you all enjoyed it!! Just a shame there weren't more members out enjoying the epic conditions.

Another brilliant day at Worthing. Started out at 10:30 and had a lovely couple of hours, perfectly powered up on 5.5, warm and sunny. Sailing entirely on my own !! Even looking up and down the coast there was no one out. HAd a long rest during low tide, then went out again mid afternoon, seriously overpowered but still good fun. Wind kept picking up and I finally admitted defeat around 5pm.

Just to say I was not far away - on the Sunday, at Pevensey. Even the children were impressed with their Mum's performance. Sorry we didn't get to Worthing. I did think about it and still hope that we can join you one day. I think we need to work out a rescue plan for little people (9 and 11 years), for when they want to be on the water. Our canoe doesn't travel with us in the van. It is too big (seats three). Diane D.
