Hayling delivered the goods again in classic style! Saturday was warm and sunny with a good 5m breeze and nice smooth swells. We had a great sail before a meaty shore break at high tide intervened. The turnout was pretty good and included Andrew, John, Alan, Mark, Steve, Chris, Nula & Lawrence and Juan & Genevieve who was making a welcome return to the water! The evening was spent in the Yew Tree were the lamb shank was as good as ever. The wind picked up to a good 4m on Sunday but so did the rain. Andrew and John sailed for a short time but the rest of us chickened out and retired to watch the mens final. The sun returned later in the day and I think Andrew and John went back for more!

Actually managed to get moving early, out on the water before 10am. I had a great couple of hours in the swell, sunny as well. Stopped when it got just a bit too lumpy.

Had a lazy afternoon, but finally had a very pleasant late afternoon sail (99l & 5.5). Short, but noice. Played tag with Lawrence.

Good to see so many OMWC's on the water, especially Juan & Genevieve.

Really enjoyed first sail in England for a couple of years- water warm and planing about half of time (sail a little small for wind at the time I went out). Only out for about an hour mostly due to childcare- but left me wanting to do more!!
Thanks to Heather and Bill for hosting a great event.

Third time out, still lacking in confidence and a little nervous about my fitness and because the onshore wind made it seem windier and the hightide shoredump seemed scary. BUT made myself do it and loved it! Pushed and swam out through the shoredump with my gear just to make sure I didn't get spat back out, then just doodled back and forth for 2 hours, keeping well off the shoreline. A little underpowered - by choice as I wanted some control and confidence. Being overtaken by the silverphantom (Alan) was a bit distracting - nobody likes to be beaten by a pensioner, as Mark says! But got a great gybe or two and also a brilliant nose dive tack, according to Juan, and when Juan came in I got planing on his 5.4 and 116L, and zoomed past everyone so that made the day complete! Great to see everyone. Sunny and windy again!!!

Turned up early, and saw Andrew.
Wind a little up & down, but decided to rig small with wave board ready for the high tide session.
At first I struggled to get properly going but thankfully wind increased and things where looking good except the waves where not there. Total mush, like sailing at Lepe. Wind went southerley which made things worse. The right ingrediants where there, but it never happened for me.

Windy weekend. 4.7 underpowered Saturday. 3.8 completely maxed out at Pagham on Sunday. Fun sailing with everyone on Sat and seeing them at Yew tree. Sunday was heaving - and everyone completely overpowered. I've never seen such high loops. (not mine I must add)

Had a lot of computer problems, at least thats my excuse for getting so behind with my diary. Anyway, the best I can recolect was that it was a great days sailing on the Axxis 272, spent most of the day going upwind so I could broad reach and see what this board can do, its a wild ride thats for sure.

Another 2 session day.

Decided that early was best to miss high tide. Rigged and out on the water by 9:15. Back on the beach by 9:25, completely overpowered on 4.2. The wind had picked up big time and the rain came through. Eventually retired to Heather and Bills, where we had a nice afternoon watching the tennis.

Around 6pm, John G and I decided it was time for another sail. I went out on 4.7, much better than the morning session, but still not great, perhaps I've been spoilt by too many good sessions recently. Still, John enjoyed it, and so did a few others I spoke to.

Now this was interesting - it was HONKING! Andrew retired after 15 mins, and I lasted 20 or so, before I made the mistake of coming ashore for a rest and got hammered in the shorebreak on the way back out. Pants. However, like the computer Deep Thought, this was merely the session in preparation for the session to come...

Wowser!! Got down about 6 after a very relaxed time at B&H's following The Session Before. Not so windy, lower tide - fantastic session! Lots of jumps, some small but amusing waves, lots of gybing fun - I was a man possessed!! Finally stopped after 2 hours, proper tired rather than hammered to bits. How a day can change eh? But it was defo only possible because of the morning's heavy session. Kewl. So much to learn...

Very windy day, found the limit of the axxis 272 today, so guess it was a learning experience. The wind picked up while I was rigging, so hit the water overpowered, needed a 4.0 or smaller, big shore break as it was an onshore wind but nice waves comming in so thought I was going to have some fun. I could just about hold on to the sail, but the board was wild, I seemed to be in the air most of the time, which is great if you are in control, so get back to the beach and change down. Good theory, but it took a while to get back to the beach, in the meantime the rain started, a heavy stinging rain, so thought I would sit it out. 2 hours later, still raining hard. De-rigged and went home, disapointed with the conditions and my inability to enjoy them.

Great windy weekend - Thanks for that Bill and Heather. I loved getting out with Juan again - granny looking after the 3 tykes for us. I used my 78l and 4.4 just to get into the rhythm and make myself try some turning. It was great. Pity I didn't manage to find any of my summer wetsuits! Lovely sunshine and wind combo. Got some more confidence back. Ready to take on 3.7 weather again now!!!
