Not a great lot of wind on the Saturday, a small gathering and a few went out sailing, Juan, Andrew, John, unfortunately had a recurrence of a back problem so couldn't make it out on the water myself. Roger, Julie & Mike were also down and in the evening Bill & Heather joined us at the Walnut Tree, good meal as ever. Sunday was a general retreat to Hayling, Andrew, & John sailing in the harbour and then finishing off the day at Beachlands.

Arrived 2-ish, to find Stevie G there with Andrew and Julie, all sitting on the beach and wondering they could be *rsed to go out. Then Juanito arrived, and galvanised us into action - well me and Andrew anyway. Was it action? hard to tell in the huge tidal flow and light wind, but we had a good time. Juan and I practised falling in together, holding a lengthy conversation on the subject of board width before resuming our meandering. I practised a few tacks after Andrew and Juan left for the increasingly huge walk that is Pagham at low tide, then did the same painful journey myself. The cup of tea that followed in late Tate's van was well worthwhile :), topped off by a good meal at the Walnut Tree. G'night all.

Finally goaded into action by Juan and John G, thanks. Not the best of sails, mainly because of the weed. Good company though.

After a most uninviting Pagham yesterday (didn't sail) had an excellent couple of hours Sunday afternoon, well powered up on 6.3 enjoying the roller coaster lumps at Hayling. Bill and Heather out sailing plus Mark C. Steve, Andrew and John all turned up as well after sailing at Esso beach.

This is my first 4 star for Hayling, usually gets a maximum of 3. Additional star was not because the conditions were amazing, just enjoyable blasting.

Having gone to Pagham late Saturday afternoon was pleased to gather from the dedicated few die hards that I'd made the right decision only turning up in time for the pub! Sunday John Andrew and I headed for Hayling and Esso Beach - high tide 1.00pm in a westerly wind. Got on the water at midday and what a blast!! John was on his 5.5 (I dont think he has any other sails!) Andrew was on his trusty 6.5 and true to form I was on my 7.5. Had a great time - shame about the sea weed though! Had to stop after a couple of hours for a new set of arms.

Got to Esso Beach a couple of hours before high tide, so sat around reading until some water, Andrew and Mike T arrived. Rigged a 5.5. in the expectation of some light wind fun, but it turned out quite different. A great time was had by all, good constant wind, the only problem being the dratted weed clagging the fin. A tip - shorter is better. My Playmate driven by my 5.5. competed well with Mike's 7.5 and Andrew's 6.5 - remarkable! Zoomed all the way across the harbour to the other side, furtherest I've ever been there, but since it wasn't really any different I only did it the once! Did a load of good gybes and some rubbish ones. Excellent!!

Hey, it's the summer right? So must be 5.5. time... Went down Hayling seafront after a spot of post-sail lunch, to find Roger T, Steve G, Alan and Mark C and B&H there, with Andrew arriving shortly. Rigged the ubiquitous sail and 102 FSW, only to switch it for the mad pushmepullyou when it was extremely obvious nothing much was happening. Got in some interesting light wind work - almost made a heli-tack, defo will crack it next time, and practised switch stance and duck gybes. Thanks to the mystery freestyler who inspired me and stayed out as late. Went home, but thanks to B&H for the offer of a Thai meal - hope the local cats survived ;)

Got to Esso Beach just before high tide and rigged thinking I was just going to play around, but almost as soon as I went out the wind came up and I had a fantastic blast. Could have been on 5.5, but it was flat water, so I just hung on and had great fun. Plenty of seaweed (ugh) but not as bad as yesterday.

Went down to the sea front after a la zy afternoon (knackered fronm the Esso Beach sail), finally decided to join John G on the water. Everyone was out on 5.5s but it dropped, still it was nice to getout for a second sail today.
