Better late than never! An excellent weekend with fabulous weather, Myself, Bill, Heather, Nick, Caroline, Mike T & Claire had a good mixture of surfing, SUP paddleboarding, walks, tractor rides & even some windsurfing! We had Mike T and Caroline on one side of the sand bar and the rest of us sailing on the other side, only for Mike T to sail around Burgh Island to join us. Unfortunately his sail couldn't stand the excitement and gave way half way round. Luckily the local RNLI boys were around to give him a hand in. All in all a great bank holiday weekend in a fabulous spot, thanks to everyone who came long.

Eight OMWCites turned up for the Bigbury event but despite glorious weather on the Saturday there wasn't a lot of wind. Undeterred we had some good fun surfing, sailing, bodyboarding and SUPing (Stand up Paddleboarding) the latter not proving quite as easy as Heather made it look!

Sunday was another magnificent day at Bigbury although the North Westerly wind started out a bit iffy. Despite that most of us rigged and went out, Carolyn and myself on the open seaward side of the island and the others in the bay. It was marginal planing conditions so I decided to go for a quick circumnavigation of the island - which I did indeed complete - but only with a little help from my friends at the RNLI!! I found myself struggling on the leeward side of the island and managed to put two holes in my very old tired but favourite 9.0m sail - so when the nice little RNLI men turned up I was rather gratefull for a bit of assistance! Heather and Bill meanwhile were having a brilliant session whilst Steve, Nick and Kathy all appeared to be having a pretty good sail as well. I had to leave them to it with the prospect of more to follow on Bank Holiday Monday
