Oh - and we might just do an instant-host this weekend 10/11th which seems to be open - if it does turn out to be gi-normous and fits Witterings/Pagham/close-by and triplet-sitter-able - we will be in touch as the forecasts tighten up on thursday and friday.

Any updates for this weekend? Sunday looks quite promising! Best, Balazs

Looks like there might be quite a bit of west in it on Sunday. I vote Bracklesham again.

What kind of conditions would be expected at Bracklesham, with the predicted west north-west wind (flat water, waves)? Sorry for the silly question, but have never been there...

Added by rogerta on 10/10/09

There should be some waves pushed up by the cross onshore winds. If it backs round to a NW wind it will be cross shore and the waves will clean up - can be very good. Best tidal conditions are from mid tide to high tide on the push which is lunchtime to later afternoon on Sunday. You get people surfing down at Bracklesham which for a south coast location is pretty unusual. Just shows how good it can be although it does need at least a couple of days of wind for the swell to really build. Sunday will probably be more wind blown small and mushy but still great fun as the waves tend to stand up better than a lot of places - apart from my other favourite south coast venue - Avon Beach.

Just seen the updated forecast and not too sure how much wind there is going to be - fingers crossed it gets updated again.
