Despite a forecast of light Northerly and heavy rain, when we arrived at the beach on Saturday morning we were greeted with a force 4 to 5 East / SouthEast and sunshine. We were joined by Roger T, Adam, Mike, John V, Liz and Steve who all rigged up and enjoyed the conditions. Just goes to show you can never trust a forecast. The day just got better as it went on, Steve and me finally dragged ourselves off the water about 6:30.

Saturday evening we walked up to the local carvery pub for a hungry windsurfers "eat as much as you want" meal washed down with a few pints. Unfortunately, on the walk home, that heavy rain did arrive and we all got soaked.

Sunday started with a light Southwesterly but only 3 people out when we arrived. It just about reached a force 4 for a while but then slowly died to nothing and stayed that way for the rest of the day. We were joined by Andrew and Chris M and spent most of the day engrossed in light wind activities (i.e. we sat about eating doughnuts). Fish and chips on the beach in the evening finished off a pretty good weekend.

Arrived down late afternoon to find Avon beach very quiet. In fact it was pretty much OMWC and no-one else - Adam, Mike, Steve and Liz. We had some great conditions, sailing along the shore from Steamer Point up to the harbour entrance in the SE wind. Great to get such an excellent late afternoon sail without the crowds.

Despite the direction, ESE (not normally that brilliant for Avon) I had a great sail as did 6 or 7 of the OMWC regulars that joined me. I promise never to complain about Easterlies again.

What a bonus on Saturday! Despite a poor forecast conditions turned out to be excellent and I had my best sail of the year to date - not that that would be too difficult! We had sunshine and a good Force 4+ and some pretty uncrowded conditions considering. The were eight of us out on Saturday - good to seee Liz and Steve both sailing, John, Adam, Roger myself. Things weren't looking too exciting Sunday though, so I headed for home - hope you got a sail in!
