Went to Hayling but only people on formula kit out so went round to Hillhead hoping for better conditions. There was a bit more wind - but it was hardly epic conditions. Had a decent sail on my 6.9m but was nursing a dodgy knee so took it easy.
Bumped into Nick down there - your secret's safe with me

An iffy sail followed by a dodgy surf on a fairly grey and miserable day.
Great to meet up with Steve and Leuda though - thanks for the tea Leuda - you make a superb brew!! We tried to call into Nick M but he was obviously busy at some international gymkhana on his pygmy shetland pony.

Met up with Juan, Gen and Team Triplet - all keen to go, but Gen the lucky windsurfer today! We rigged 5.5 sails because it looked like that sort of day, westerly. Got in some good rides in the pretty flat low-tide water before the wind dropped...
So then we thought of Nick and practised the stuff you never do, like tacks n stuff. And then... the wind came back!! Our reward for suffering? Gen and the guys left me to the company of Bill and Heather who'd out in a appearance, so I put my winter booties on to celebrate, er, because my feet were cold! I kept on for another hour or so, and eventually stopped after 3 hours or so in total, tired and hungry.
A good day. Thanks guys!! See you again soon....

Average conditions at Hayling, but a phenomally exhilarating and most-excellent return to the water after the operation!!! It was great fun doing ellipsoid tracks with John to practice our tacks and gybes while the wind was only so-so. And it was a very energising feeling to have those nice adrenalins flushing away the working weeks (it is a while since I last got to go planing on the windsurfer!). Of course, the wind picked up a notch just as we had to go put the boys to rest. But I had just the right amount of boost and the hand/wrist power just lasted the 2 or so hours, without pushing it too far. The water is still warm. Sebastian told me to 'be careful...'. Can't wait until Pagham now - praying for a decent swell and the right wind!!!
