After a few very shortlived sessions it was great to be comfortably powered for more than 5 minutes! 5m was spot on - kept me going in the lulls and manageable in the gusts. Had a good 3-4 hours on it in what were actually pretty warm and sunny conditions (for December).

The wind was a little up and down, especially on the sand bar which I ended up having a swim on just to take a bit of a break from the windsurfing. Its really funny continuously getting hit on the head by white water from the front, the side and behind. Mike P and John G both out as well.
The swell was definitely better at mid tide with some properly forming ground swell. As it reached high tide, the waves became less well defined so you had to go closer and closer to the beach to actually ride anything. So close that they occasionally sucked dry, leaving nowhere to go but face plant the beach - ohhhhh shiiiiiiitttttt - splat!

Matt & I arrived early with only a few boarders out. Rigged large knowing the wind was to drop after lunch, but the wind came up. Maxed out most of the afternoon, but great fun. Last sail until New Year as off Snowboarding in France for 2 weeks.

sounds like you had a good time - it certainly was better than the turkey I cooked. The waves looked great.
