I arrived at a sunny & breezy Hamworthy Park to be met by Sarah, Nick & Ella, after depositing a party of small boys at the skate park. Nuala and Lawrence appeared sans Xavier in their sporty, purple Elise, top down of course and decided a tour of the Purbecks was most inviting. We could see a few people planing beyond the moored boats and I decided that cruising around in the sun was an opportunity not to be missed. No one else was tempted though. My first time out in months on the old race board and 8.5. A bit like manoeuvring a tanker in comparison to the short boards I had been sailing in Dahab. But, great fun and I managed to get planing.

Two hours later I arrived back to shore where Chris M and Steve G had turned up to soak up the sun. The skaters returned to take advantage of the empty swimming pool (skate boarders heaven!) 'Well fun!' quote from Ed (age 9).

Eight of us walked to the quay and decided Pizza & Pasta at La Lupa's would satisfy all appetites. We even had a floor show provided by one of the waiters and a grey haired, stout diner!! Honestly, it was nothing to do with us! A quick skate board & jog back to the park in no time. Yet again, Hamworthy must be one of the best kept secrets for enjoying the South Coast for free!
