Beautiful sunny day. Didn't get down to the beach until lunch time so missed the stronger wind. However, there was still enough to get planing in the sparkly blue sea. Loved being back on the water!!!

Turned up at 11am to a windless, waterless Mudeford Quay to meet Paul (are newest member). We decided to head round to Avon Beach where there was a little more wind. The wind had been forecast to build throughout the day so I leisurely rigged my new 8.8 sail and fitted the old monster 50cm fin to my board. Paul had already been out for some time nailing his lightwind freestyle by the time I put in. Had a few fast runs, but couldn't quite get planing. Frustrated, I headed back in for lunch in the hope of the illusive Avon Beach sea breeze coming to my rescue in the afternoon. Carl came down whilst I was making my lunch - apparently Hurst Castle weather station was reading 17 knots! After giving Carl a guided tour of the new van, I headed out for another sail, but by this time there was literally no wind.

Despite being a very frustrating day, it was not completely wasted. I got practice rigging and using my new 8.8 sail, which despite not getting me planing I'm still very pleased with.
