A nice early start to the weekend. Very light wind (they said I'd never get going), but the wind picked up a notch just as I went out. Had a great afternoon cruising across the harbour, just me Nick B and a few locals out.

Sailed off the calshot spit towards southampton. Very windy but flattish water so great slalom weather.

Sail:5.3

A somewhat grey, gusty and cold day at Hayling. Rigged a 5.3 which was perfect some of the time, but rather overpowered in some of the gusts. Also was feeling a bit under the weather so had one of those sails when nothing really clicked. Mustn't grumble, at least there was wind!

We dithered and dithered, but eventually I went for 5.5, just right - well totally overpowered actually, but this is Portland harbour, so do the same as everyone else - hang on and blast across the harbour. Great fun but all got just a bit tooo manic for me at times.

A bit overpowered all day and was having great difficulties carve gybing (fin too long!). Really good blast and great fun nonetheless.

Two great days of sailing - well hanging on and going as fast as possible most of the time. Carve gybes ? Who needs those when you can jump off, spin the board round and blast back to the beach again !

Thanks to Lawrence and Nuala for being excellent hosts again

Had a great sail. Overpowered on occasion but a good adrenaline hit - much needed after a mad week at work. Planned to meet Adam but didn't see him on the water. Heard later he'd damaged his sail and had a bit of a wipe out so maybe just as well I didn't, it may have been catching!? Good to see a few other people out there I knew having fun.

Exactly the same as yesterday, overpowerd on 5.5 but great fun. Decided to quit early before it got too hectic on the water (still tired from yesterdy)

Really good conditions for my level and with the advice of Andrew and Nick I managed to finish my very first "almost planning" carve gybes. Thanks Nuala for letting me try your RRD board, loved it!

Had a great extended weekend with lightish winds on Friday so on 127l JP with 8.4mē then tried my new Kode 103l with 5.9mē and 5.4mē North Duke sails on Saturday and Sunday. Two nearly perfect planing days. Many thanks to Nuala and Lawrence for organising the pub and the chaufer service on Saturday evening.
