Had a nice sail blasting about. Only graded average because it rained for about 20 mins and it hurt my face! I am turning in to a wimp I fear?

An enjoyable sail at Avon Beach while it lasted, but far too brief.

The forecast looked so promising, and there was a mad rigging frenzy when the rain cleared and the wind picked up around 2pm, but it didn't last long. Still, it was a very pleasant and sociable day on the beach.

Waited all day for the wind to come up and it teased us with semi planing conditions for a bit in the afternoon, but never really amounted to much. Probably best thing about the sailing was the carvery meal we had with Clare and Andrew afterwards.

Sailed at Esso beach due to high tide being in the middle of the day. It was a lovely sunny sail - only reason it's only average is because I was sailing like a Noddy. Good to see Mike P sailing.

Sailed at Esso to avoid the big shore dump on the front. Really nice sail well powered up with some nice swells.

Awesome late session down at Bracklesham. Arrived down about 6pm and had two hours of just fantastic sailing. Really nice ramps on the way out and some nice waves to ride on the way in. Just three of us out but loads of surfers - always a good sign. Very onshore but still able to get some frontside riding. Only surprise was the waves didn't have more power on the back of all that wind.

Great Windsurf at Hayling Island I was out on a 4.5m sail, overpowered at times and crashed and splashed on most of the turns but I had a fantastic time and can't wait to get out again soon. This is not my first event out this year, I just haven't entered a dairy on any of the others!

Great sail with Helen and others. It was Helen's first proper sail for several months due to a hand injury and she loved it. Spent two hours blasting in the harbour, then took a stroll over to Avon Beach to watch everyone having fun in the waves; expected to see Carl practicing forward loops, but he must have gone home by the time we got there.

Previous day, we went to Poole Windfest, which actually had some wind, what a novelty! Saw some wicked mountain bike demonstrations, and a lot of hot freestyle action on the water, including a double-forward.

Good day with Juanito, Gen, Mikey P and others - happy anniversary Steve and Leuda!
Rigged a 5.5 somewhat enthusiastically, which was probably far too big from the off. Stupid rear footstrap came unscrewed, went back and fixed it. Good job I left the screwdriver on the beach, because shortly afterwards one of the front footstraps did the same thing. Then I eventually went for the 4.7, which was almost too big by that point! Did some good jumps, actually caught some Hayling waves, now need to practise more - move those hands John!! Tricky when overpowered.

Got to the beach to find perfect lines of clean swell, so long it was almost too much to believe. Air temp 23C and the water felt about the same. The best wave riding this year, for sure, probably for a few years. Wish I'd stopped and taken some photo's it was unbelievable but just had to sail instead. Packed up in the afternoon and headed off to the windfest and caught some of the freestyle action which was incredible, the animal team looping mountain bikes were pretty cool too. What a day.

After-work sail, first hour was absolutely pants on account of no water in the harbour except for a small puddle somewhere up near Hamworthy, and my fin was too small, and my sail not enough downhaul, and the whole rig felt like I was wrestling with a gorilla. Coupled with a wind that was so gusty it was like someone was switching on and off a massive wind machine in the sky.

Came in and put on some more downhaul, and a bigger fin, and by which time the harbour had filled with some of that wet stuff commonly referred to as water, and the wind filled in a bit too. So the last hour was a great blast, with some chop-hopping and half decent gybes.

Called it a day as the sun was setting behind Brownsea Island....to be more precise, called it a night.
