Despite the really encouraging forecast there was very little wind as I drove down to Lepe but when I got there everyone was out on 5.3 - 5.7s - the Solent was doing its usual funnelling trick. I couldn't see my 5.7 coping with my 16 stone though so I rigged my trusty old 7.4 - and was I glad I did. The wind dropped when I was over at Gurnard - not enough to be a problem but enough to be glad I'd got my 7.4! Still it was a glorious sunny afternoon, the water was not cold and despite the wind it was quite balmy - and almost November! What a great way to spend the afternoon :)

Tricky decision today. The wind was best in the West, which meant Weymouth, but the tide there was totally out, so Avon Beach looked the next best thing, but the car park was full. So Mudeford it was, and Helen and I had a great couple of hours in the pond until the tide went out there too. Water is getting colder but the fantastically mild autumn weather continues and long may we have double digit temperatures!

Got there early and glad I did as by the afternoon the wind dropped. A little disappointed as was hoping for alot more wind. Good to see a few old faces there.

The wind was just strong enough for my trusted 6.0, but the chop was hard work. It's too bad the wind dropped as soon as Adrian was finished with it! I would have loved to carry on for this (maybe) last session of 2011. I will give it a go again in December if the weather allows.

mmm, not really worth any recognition. Very poor little session after a number of months away from the water.

Just thought I would say that 'Shanty town' beach as the locals I met described it, would be really good in the right wind strength.

Hopefully Tomorrow Wednesday will be good, forecast was looking promising.
