Had a really nice evening sail at Lepe, a great start to the megabash weekend. I was slightly worried the wind would drop, but 5.5 was just right.

Good to see so many faces today. After blagging the sports hall I spent most of the afternoon playing badminton, basketball & tennis. Heard the wind coming up so rigged the formula kit and went and joined the P&O cruisers coming out of Southampton. After an hour the wind dropped so on to johns live band. Awesome.....

Sunday dawned - it actually did, with sun and everything! After a leisurely breakfast, and some clouding over, the wind came up... lots of debate on the advisability of going out, and after rigging up I had to sit in the sun for a bit in my wetsuit 
.
However, it picked up, and a good hour or so was spent blasting around, joined by Yannis, Juanito and J-P sporting his fairly shiny new 7.5 he'd just bought off a guy in a dodgy band. All was well, until the wind dropped, and we were left with a bit of a slog back to land as the Calshot water went down the plug hole. Still, made it seem like it was worth it!!

Our weekend experience in 10 lines:
We arrived at Calshot on Friday.
It rained.
We met some great members (and children) throughout the weekend, too many to name!
It rained some more
We toured a number of camper vans and got some great ideas.
It rained even more.
We didn't get a chance to BBQ as it kept raining.
Kids had fun paddling and having a go at windsurfing.
Managed to score an hour's worth of great sailing on Sunday with John, Juan and others.
We shredded a tyre on M4 on our way back and car ended up on a towing truck.
Sun came out.

Ok sail nice to have a blast with John G. and JP and Yannis same it was only for 30min and then had a long walk back bare foot ouch! can remember been that bad with rock at Calshot.

It was nice to see many friendly faces. Despite the lack of wind and the excess of water, we did have a pleasant weekend. The sailing was short, but thanks to a guy in a dodgy band, I was flying!

Didn't manage a sail but despite the rain on Saturday we had a great day - good to catch up with old and new friends alike. Well done Adrian on getting the key for the sports hangar! Thanks again to the committee for organising this.
