on the beach somewhere between Fermoyle and Kilcummin in Brandon Bay
Rating:3 star rating
Board:94 litres
Sail:5.3

Morning session at Fermoyle. Wind pretty fickle despite our careful choice of venue to ensure cross-off.
Got some waves but also let a few slip, either due to poor wave choice or wind dropping at the crucial moment. Tried the JP Radical Quad of Guy's. Nicer in the turn than my triwave but notably slower to plane and nowhere near as good across white water.
Unfortunately an afternoon session never materialised as the wind dropped away.

Used 3 different boards when the truth is I should have changed sail. Some waves in the bay today so started with my first sail on a quad. Pretty technical to sail and really not enough wind. Changed to skate 89 which was still a bit underpowered so finally went to skate 100 only for the rig to separate from the board way out back! Thanks to the Italian guy for helping me sort things out!

Was that a proper kit failure, or the mast base just slipping out of the slot? I've had that happen...

and you just overtook me on the diary count! Dammit... It's those furren holidays what do it, all that wind n sun n stuff...

I'm just a bit jealous...haven't been to Lanzarote since easter when we had barely any wind. UK is a bit stuck in offshore winds

To answer John's question... Not sure. Base and mast foot separated but only after quite a bit of movement, so unlikely that I had just not connected properly. There was some loose fabric on the UJ so I reckon that had got trapped when I connected so it wasn't a secure connection - that is my excuse in any case!
