Solid day in Costa Teguise. Windy but a bit patchy however 5m was a good choice both morning and afternoon.
Morning, well late morning - our flight was somewhat delayed so it had been a late night, was flattish but more swell in the afternoon as lower tide. And some great ramps from time to time. Roll on the rest of the week!

Another day on the Triwave. Very impressed - not quite as quick to get going as a freewave but point it well off the wind and it is not far off, certainly quicker than any other waveboard I have sailed. Morning was moderately powered whereas afternoon a bit more marginal although that could have something to do with the hole I appear to have put in the sail - not sure how it happened though. Good job I took insurance.
Bigger swell today as lower tide - got some nice jumps. Brief moment of concern when a dorsal fin appeared right in front of me but I decided benign dolphins far more likely than anything else. Busy day on the water being Saturday but more than enough room for everyone.
Rounded off the day watching 'skim boarders' - a sport I had previously only seen undertaken by 12 year olds but these guys were running 20m down the beach hitting a wave from the inside and then getting a couple of turns, one even got tubed in the shorebreak - pretty impressive although wiping out headfirst in 2 inch of water doesn't appeal...

Wow, hard work for a holiday today!
Wind blew all night and promptly dropped at about 10am. Returned pretty northerly and mega-gusty. I took a 5.3m which was a proper handful. Should have been a metre less I think but I persevered on the expectation that with the wind being so unpredictable it would drop as soon as I changed. I was rewarded by a respite and the 5.3m became the perfect tool. However half an hour later it picked up again and I decided I was the perfect tool.
So a decent, windy first day. Definitely a good workout though.

A perfect final day - other than ripping my toenail off on my first run out :(
I sailed through the pain although had to be very careful how I put my foot in the straps. Not much in the way of waves to ride today but plenty of ramps made it a great way to end the week. Tried the camera again today but battery has run out so will have to view the footage later.
Time to reflect on another great week in Costa Teguise. 2 days of 5.6, 2 days of 5.3, 1 day on 5.0 and two windy days on 4.7 with chunky waves - what more could you want? What a place!

Well Costa Teguise showed its true colours today: lines of white crested swell across the entire bay and the wind had been turned up a notch or two. Launching a bit tricky in the fickle wind and not inconsiderable shore break. Once out, gusty wind around the point and then wave upon wave. The waves were crumbling rather than closing out - but I wouldn't have fancied getting caught on the white water on top as that would carry you way downwind and probably part you a long way from your kit. Powered up on the way out there were pretty big voids of nothingness behind the waves - perfect for comedy jumps-cum-drops. Arms were knackered far quicker than they should have been - otherwise would have rated higher.
