A day of bad decisions/bad luck..
Looked like I was going to hit high tide if I had gone to Hayling and with the wind pretty westerly I didn't fancy Esso Beach. So, seduced by photos on the Boards forum of Branksome Dene Chine I headed there figuring if it was no good I would go to the Harbour. The waves looked pretty clean at BDC but very light wind and still with a couple of hours to high tide I figured sailing there could be a bad move, especially as there was only one solitary figure out.
So headed to the harbour but as I launched the wind dropped and it was a struggle to get onto the plane. Gave it up as a bad job only for the wind to pick up as I derigged, and then on the way past Branksome on the way home it looked like there were more people floating and riding :(
All in all pretty frustrating

Went on a one-day Guy Cribb course to Branksome Dene Chime. Never been there before but a fantastic location and I am sure I will go there again in due course. A bit like Avon Beach but a bigger car park.
Guy, as usual, a brilliant coach. I was a little disappointed by my loop attempts but I am going to reserve judgement until I am on smaller kit in stronger winds.

I think you deserve a pat on the back for at least trying (or should that be a wet slap on the back!). Hadn't realised the course was on just down the road, but I was away then anyway. One day I'll run out of excuses and have to join you though!
