Definitely my worst session for some time. Down in Bigbury for a week but no wind so finally resorted to taking my 8m (not used for 3 years) coupled to Jane's big board. Eventually got going in a gust, tacked, got pulled over the front.. and took the nose off. Not a great session - and the only one of the week :(

It doesn't sound like full on Bigbury wave sailing. Still, I expect it was good to be in South Devon with the family.

Yes, that side is great. Have an apartment right on the beach with a perfect view across to Burgh Island. Nayra now the proud owner of her first (pink) wetsuit.

The wind had swung around and strengthened. Rigged a 5.5m but quickly switched to my waveboard and 5m.
Didn't manage to catch low tide so waves not as consistent but still good fun. Unfortunately the wind dropped after lunch - so it was off to Burgh Island for a pint instead!

The NE wind was funnelled through the estuary making the rivermouth the windiest place around.
First 2 sessions were at high tide which made for mega-flat water. Air temp around 27c so the summer suit saw the light of day for the first time this year (water still pretty chilly though). Made my first proper downwind 360 - flat water and loads of power is definitely the key!
By the time of my third session, the tide was well on the way out, making for some nice swell with the wind blowing cross-off. My only regret was I was knackered by now!
All in all, a brilliant day's sailing with a wide range of conditions (but never had to change kit).
And the beautiful weather meant Jane and Nayra were quite content on the beach... All rounded off with a nice BBQ!
