Very disappointing post-Storm-Gareth session.
I hoped to catch the incoming tide with fun, clean waves and a more sensible wind. What i found was flat water, horrible gusty, cold NW wind and a car park full of paramedics.
Two windsurfers had collided - so there was the RNLI, Coastguard, Police, Ambulance, Critical Care docs and then the air ambulance. Hopefully both windsurfers will make a quick recovery.
My 5.9m was too little one moment and absolutely stacked the next, and it was surprisingly chilly. So didn't stay out long..

Somewhat disappointing, was expecting F5 but got no wind to speak of. Lightwind freestyle was the best I could do and annoyingly the wind seemed to be picking up just as it got dark. Bit weird seeing no beach huts at Hayling but made beach access easier!
Balmy weather for December - had to put the a/c on the way home..

A very rare 2-session weekend.
Unfortunately today didn't live up to either the forecast or yesterday. 5.9m was ok but no waves to speak of ,and with most of the car park closed you had to launch from east of the Inn on the Beach. Maybe I am just getting too fussy...

Nice to see Andrew and Clare (and Heather from the distance) but there the excitement ended. The wind never picked up (other than for a period of approximately 7 minutes 37 seconds - where at least I got planning consistently and a few little jumps). Still the sun shone, and my new wetsuit fitted.. so mustn't grumble

Was hoping for more wind but mustn?t grumble. Nicely powered for the first two hours then after lunch the wind dropped off. Had another on-off 2 hours and then rather frustratingly the wind picked up the second that I derigged. Pretty flat so mostly a freestyle session. Still trying to get more consistent with upwind 360s in chop; some progress made...

First sail since early February. NE wind wasn't ideal but actually once you got out of the wind shadow it wasn't too bad. I joined Andrew and I think Bill and Heather - but never actually saw Bill and Heather. Flat water but nice just to get out, and in the sun too...

Was hoping it would be a little windier or wavier, but it wasn't as windy as hoped and the water was pretty flat. Maybe this, and the late low tide was why there weren't many out when I launched just before 2pm. However by the time I called it a day there were probably 10-15 out.
Not a hugely exciting session but good to get out although I think it was the last time this year I will be using my summer wetsuit - a bit chilly especially towards the end.

Wow, another Friday night after work sail! Due to hold ups on m3 etc didn't get onto the water until 7.30 but the wind had hung around. Low tide at Hayling so mega flat. However that didn't stop my harness line from snapping which was a tad annoying resulting in the waste of precious minutes of fading daylight as I changed boom. Good freestyle session with about 7 others out although by the end I found myself the only one out and was struggling to see the water in front of me so decided I had better call it a day....

Perfect timing, perfect sail choice. I felt pretty smug today.
The consensus seemed to be 5.5 - 6 but I had a sneaky feeling the wind was coming up so opted for a small sail and big board. Good choice, a bit marginal to start with but the wind built to the point where later on I wondered if I should be on my 4.7. Very good fun. What I wasn't quite so smart about was the application of sun screen, oops...

First 20 minutes were excellent and then as the squall came in the wind picked up and visibility dropped (as well as the rain being pretty painful on my face). In the end I sheltered behind a groin whilst the rest of the squall passed. Another decent 10-20 mins afterwards and then the wind dropped and dropped. Finished the session with light wind freestyle. Nice to get out but would have been better if the wind had lasted
