Was hoping it would be a little windier or wavier, but it wasn't as windy as hoped and the water was pretty flat. Maybe this, and the late low tide was why there weren't many out when I launched just before 2pm. However by the time I called it a day there were probably 10-15 out.
Not a hugely exciting session but good to get out although I think it was the last time this year I will be using my summer wetsuit - a bit chilly especially towards the end.

Wow, another Friday night after work sail! Due to hold ups on m3 etc didn't get onto the water until 7.30 but the wind had hung around. Low tide at Hayling so mega flat. However that didn't stop my harness line from snapping which was a tad annoying resulting in the waste of precious minutes of fading daylight as I changed boom. Good freestyle session with about 7 others out although by the end I found myself the only one out and was struggling to see the water in front of me so decided I had better call it a day....

Perfect timing, perfect sail choice. I felt pretty smug today.
The consensus seemed to be 5.5 - 6 but I had a sneaky feeling the wind was coming up so opted for a small sail and big board. Good choice, a bit marginal to start with but the wind built to the point where later on I wondered if I should be on my 4.7. Very good fun. What I wasn't quite so smart about was the application of sun screen, oops...

First 20 minutes were excellent and then as the squall came in the wind picked up and visibility dropped (as well as the rain being pretty painful on my face). In the end I sheltered behind a groin whilst the rest of the squall passed. Another decent 10-20 mins afterwards and then the wind dropped and dropped. Finished the session with light wind freestyle. Nice to get out but would have been better if the wind had lasted

Groin sheltering?? We demand to know whose groin!!

Hmm, another session of hit and miss wind. Thought it was going to pick up which it did sporadically and predictably properly filled in just as I left. Couldn't have been that bad though - I was out 4 hours so mustn't grumble..

Got to Hayling and was surprised to see no-one out other than kitesurfers but plenty of windsurfers rigging. Reluctantly rigged my 5.9 thinking I was going to be blobbing but actually I timed it to perfection. The wind was up and down all day but on balance 5.9 was a good choice. The wind was more southerly than anticipated which is why I think it had holes, so it meant we were sailing almost parallel to the beach. Nice and flat to begin with but as the tide came in it got progressively choppy. In the end I had quite a long day on the water, which I am feeling today. Nice to see Heather and Bill and also John and Claire from a distance (that's nice to see them out on the water, not 'nice to keep them at a distance';)...

Snuck out for an Xmas Eve sail, but didn't have much time so very much a 'splash and dash'. Not as windy as I was hoping for but good to get out. 5.9m was perfect size. Not much in the way of waves but had fun on the freestyle board. Weather nice and mild.

Light wind, small waves and at the end the wind dropped and swung offshore leaving me with a swim back to the beach in dark.
However it was a strangely therapeutic session, reminding me that there is more to life than work - and unseasonably warm too! Therefore a better session than the conditions suggest

First time I had used my 6.4 in ages - felt big.
First hour or so seemed like a waste of time, I could just about pump onto the plane but not keep going.
However the wind did eventually pick up, to the extent that the 6.4m coupled with my 17cm freestyle fin was becoming bit of a handful.
Yannis, Andrew and John turned up bang on cue (although Yannis had been camping there since Friday).

Excellent afternoon's sailing. Well powered on my 5.3m but with my freestyle board to keep me going through the lulls and as it was low tide. Plenty of familiar faces and loads of people out. And some sun, which made for a lovely afternoon.
