Gave the season's first windsurf lesson - was great! The beach looked great - nice and clean. sorry I couldn't make it yesterday - had children stuff all day. Hope you all had a good day ,.

I finally had a day worth mentioning...it was the best I've seen Hayling in years - 2.5 hours before high tide. One of those days where you catch a wave and by the end of it you can hardly hang on to your sail. Sailing like a gupppy but loving it. Cant believe Saturday is going to be even better.

Sail on Saturday was a bit rubbish with bumps everywhere but no real ramps. Sunday was a bit more pleasant with some real drag racing right next to the sandbar. A bit knackered with a three hour windsurf lesson as well as a proper sailing session...enjoying being an instructor though. Great to see all the OMWCers and a good meal at the Yew tree.

Pretty maxed out at first, but it got a little better as the tide came in and the waves lined up on occasion so you could do something. Most of the time it was pretty much chaos. Jem Hall out with a bunch of students who looked like they were having fun.

Hi Beth, I was one of the students, saw your van when I came in for a break but you weren't about so I guess you were on the water (hopefully not teaching beginers that day!). Nice graphics for the new business by the way, hope it's going OK. You had gone by the time I came in for the next break, probably wisely as the sea state got really horrible later on.

No students - I was just testing the water for them - nudge nudge say no more. Had a good time but difficulty depowering. Not many students yet as the weather hasn't been very encouraging. A few kayaking - I think for beginners in windsurfing you have to wait til the water is warm or it will really put them off.

Caught a squall and felt overpowered,...still incredibly cold compared to Lanza.

Not at all what I expected. Actually not expecting anything at all I did an hour of circuits at the gym. Boy did I regret that...after the endless waves and as many bottom turns I was reeeeeeally regretting being so righteous and working out on a Saturday morning. What was I thinking? Great day on some pretty good waves with Gen and a few others... in the sun...with wind and I actually got so hot I had to jump in the water to cool off. Sometimes Hayling is a great place to live. Sailed so long I ended up with a blister. I just want more - Michael says I'm greedy.

Wrong size kit in incredibly gusty wind. Went very fast. Lots of people out considering it was the middle of winter. Social event really

Made it out to the sand bar only to be disappointed by lack of waves although there were a few every so often if you could catch them. Broken toe still hurt a bit so made my jybes a bit painful.

Some days you feel like you have your own pocket of lack of wind and you don't move while everyone is flying around you and then some days you feel like you have your own little wind moving you around. That's how today was. I was the only one who could make it out to the reef where there were some really nice waves coming in. Had some great jumps and rides and then the wind died even more so had to bob my way back in. Broken toe didn't help much in jumps.

Got out at about 11:00 to some nice backside easterly waves. A bit overpowered at first, but then it got a little easier. Direction again a little strange - could jump or ride the wave either direction. There was actually some size to the waves. The most fun was finding a wave that was definitely going to break and then parking your sail depowered and surfing the wave.

Allan Cross there and we discussed the upcoming slalom events and other things.
