A bit gnarley - completely overpowered on 3-4 foot waves. Couldn't depower on the wave at all. Think i got one proper ride. The rest of the time I was just trying to hold on. Even jumping was tricky as the waves were so close together that if you jumped one you were likely to land on the next...supposed to be windier tomorrow and the forecast for next week looks truly scary - 6 metre swell. I'll believe it when I see it.

The forecast for 2 metre swell didn't quite happen - nice westerly wind so you could go down the line on what was there...but there wasn't much there - biggest sets maybe shoulder high at high tide.

Well it wasn't epic, but it wasn't bad. No one out when I got there, so I sailed by myself for about 45 minutes - a few surfers out. Nice side shore when I first got there and had two down the line waves and then the wind died a bit and went more onshore. Rigged up to my 4.7 and 80 litre board. Had fun on it doing nice backside stuff and lots of jumps (should be loops but Im too woosy). Then more people came out and the wind came back, but it was still a bit onshore. Went back and forth between two rigs. There was a squashed buoy and huge plank in the waves on the outside and I just about hit them numerous times. About shoulder high, maybe head on the outside. Not much power and hardly any gap between waves.

Great waves day. My sailing was not as good as the waves. I guess you have to pay dues sometimes. Not pealing waves, but great backside aerials to be had and lots of jumps. Try again tomorrow.

Stared at the water for ages to persuade myself it was worth it. It turned out to be some of the more powerful waves I've sailed at Bracklesham....closing out.... on my head....a few excellent rides though.
