North Devon

North Devon usually means you will come back with slightly slimmer thighs - the walk to the water at lowtide can be a killer - but as the Loreal ad says - you're worth it!!

We sail at two spots here. We usually windsurf in Portland Harbour but occasionally we go to Overcombe.

Rutland Water

A large lake where people windsurf and so on. It's a pretty handy venue if you get skunked, with lots of non-windsurfing activities available e.g. mountain biking, walking, all in a well-landscaped and tree-packed park.
Borth beach

A number of venues available here. Current research indicates rigging up in the golf course car park, mid way along the beach where the groins end, is a reasonable spot. No shortage of places to hole up for the night, you can pretty much park the van anywhere, even in the middle of town right by the beach.

Carl at Poole

Poole is one of the best windsurfing areas in England for beginners and intermediates due to the enormous expanse of shallow flat water in the harbour. There is plenty of variety for experts too. OMWC events are held at a number of different venues in Poole, so make sure you check the event information for the precise location where we will be meeting. Should the wind be in the wrong direction, it is easy to switch venues and to find somewhere where the wind is much better.
