Rating:2 star rating
Board:127 litres
Sail:6.3

Lightish wind but had a go, wind soon dropped, tried the sup for a while and wind dropped more. Carried kit back up the beach and de-rigged, then wind picked up and blew, Damn!!! Great week in Borth with lots of activities, but not quite enough wind , everyone enjoyed it though and suspect we will be back again next year!

Sat in the van and watched one person out on the water at 8:00am, havent quite got the enthusiasm that early in the morning but should of as by the time I got round to rigging it had dropped, so instead of 5ish meter sail I went for a 7m, even then it was a struggle to get going. Wind filled in a bit later on and became good fun. Nigel and my brother came out to play too so good day overall.

Forcast showed a biit of wind at Weymouth for a couple of days so headed down. Fairly light today with some big lulls but had fun on the 9m though not one of my favorite sails. Overtaken many times by guys on 6m sails and smaller, but they had foils and thats just cheating! (Currently looking into it, either diy or new, they get going in such light wind and small sails its unreal)

Mostly onshore, bombed around on the speedsails in the morning as the tide was out, then as it got closer to high tide rigged up and went out, wind soon decided to drop so not a great session. Fun few days away though and great to sail in waves again. Headed home late afternoon as heavy rain forcast for Friday.

Fairly cross shore and blowing nicely, but had doubts about my ability in the 5-6ft waves so went out on a very floaty board. Had a few nice runs but soon tired and had to call it a day. Had forgotten how much energy you need in waves. Good fun though!

Lighter winds today but did not fancy holding on to a big sail so had a float about. Lots of tacks and gybes, just attempting to get my sail handling skills back a bit really as yesterday was poor in that area, it was unhook and splat! Great to be on the water with my brother and Nigel, and the sun was out, very enjoyable. Woke to a beatifull but calm day on Thursday, had a coffee and chat on the beach then went out on the SUP for a paddle, very calm out on the water, barely a ripple, and great way to finish off our mini trip before heading home. Feels like the Summer fun has begun.

Good blow forcast for Portland harbour so headed down for a few days away. Its been a while and was waiting for it to get a bit warmer. Wind was in the low 30`s but could not get my 90 ltr board going, so switched to the 127 and had much more fun. Brilliant to be on the water again but very lacking in strength and endurance.

Good blow and nice to meet up with Carl and Nigel. Did not manage much sailing as the chop was to much for my ankle, but had to have a go. Rigging a 4.0m might have helped!!!

Got to the beach early Friday, conditions looked good 20mph+ cross off and once the tide turned early afternoon waves looked nice as well 5-6ft with nice faces, just had to go out. However I am recovering from an Achilles tendon rupture so not over confident. Well I soon got in a pickle, could get on the board ok in the shallow water but once out of my depth it became a struggle. Wind seemed to pick up ,waves got bigger and Lundy started looking closer! Ended with my first RNLI rescue, not the helicopter fortunately but the lifeguards on the beach, they were brilliant and went back out for my kit. Cross shore on Saterday, still plenty of wind to windsurf. however thought it best to stay on the beach, had a steady bike ride with my brother along the tarka trail, and watched him canoe in the surf on Sunday. Monday was a little quiet so time to chat and catch up with the gossip before Chris, Nigel Paul and I headed home. Enjoyable weekend, just wish I could have made better use of the conditions, still, I kept the others entertained!

nice blowy day in Portland harbour, though easterly rather than the more usual south west. lots of clumps of seaweed floating about which slowed things down a bit, and tide out all day on a spring so long walk to the water. sometimes powered up sometime not sort of day, should have rigged bigger but could not face all the walking and kit carrying. lots of nice sunshine though, nice day!
