Made an early start to catch the tide. Not quite the wind strength forecast but nice and sunny. Bit up and down but a nice cruising sail in flat conditions.

Overpowered some of the time and pretty lumpy but great fun although quite hard work (we can't have that can we, no Bill we can't). But justified a lamb shank and a pint at the Yew Tree.

Lovely first sail of the year in a good F4/5, and the sun even came out! Went to the Inn on the Beach later for a drink and to watch the sunset. A perfect day!

Wind blowing offshore from the town so very gusty. Took a big board out to try and compensate which helped a bit but it was still a case of being completely overpowered one minute and having no wind the next. Really hard work so didn't stay out much over an hour. Temperature around 28c was nice though.

Decent sail in the usual southwesterly. Definitely getting colder though. Next time I'm wearing my winter suit!

The wind didn't pick up quite as forecast but there was still enough for a decent sail and the sun even made the odd appearance. The water was incredibly flat with very little swell or chop despite the wind being cross on.

Had A great day cycling on the South Downs Way and got back at about 5 to find just enough wind for a late sail. Stayed out till sunset.

The Windsurfing Festival was great this year and really well organized. The wind picked up nicely on Sunday afternoon with an added sea breeze for a while. Had a nice sail with loads of people out on the water. The clouds came over later and killed off the sea breeze so called it a day. Glad I wasn't leaving the island, Heather left at 8.30 and there were still queues back to the Esso station.

The rain finally stopped just after low tide so we made for the beach. We were expecting more wind and had loaded up the wave boards, but in the end it was a nice 5.7 sail with decent swells.

Had one of those days when I always seemed to have the wrong set up. Started with a big fin which was way too much. Changed that but the wind picked up and it was still too big. Changed board and the wind dropped, changed back and it was ok for a bit but then dropped further. Derigged and it picked up again! Still it was a lovely sunny day.
