Fantastic friday fun at Hayling.

South-easterly and F4. The 5.8 and 100 litre was possibly a bit light, but just so much fun, playing in the small waves and flat water on the sand bar. The SE direction is definitely the best for Hayling.

First sail of the year, a perfect start to the season. Met up with Heather and Bill, so it was great fun both on and off the water.

A gentle session in Christchurch Harbour.

The usual crew rigged for a low-wind sail twiddling session. North-westerly wind so very gusty, but I just caught a few gusts and had a couple of planing runs (so that means I can claim it as a diary entry). First sail for ages, so good to be out again.

An enjoyable sail in Christchurch harbour

Not a lot of wind, just about enough for me. Not exciting but just a really nice simple session.

Friday fun in Christchurch Harbour

Wind dropped just as we launched, which made it hard work getting up-wind into the harbour proper, but it was fun anyway. Then wind came back again and turned it into a nice little session

Arrived at Hayling Beach to find very light wind, we decided it was worth going out just because it was such a nice day.

Did a few runs then the wind picked up alot. Should have just come in and change down, but I came in and dithered and chatted and dithered. By the ime I got back on the water, wind had died, decided to pack up before the next band of rain arraived.

So a pretty poor sail, but still a lovely day at Hayling

Friday afternoon sail at Hayling.

Good fun, but wind was a bit fickle. Planing most of the time and good fun, but hard work.

An excellent mornings sail at Hayling. Nicely powered up on 5.8.

Classic Hayling chop made it hard work. Yet again I wished I had more energy, next time I'll follow Heathers advice and eat more energy-giving food.

Lots of others on the water, an excellent day.

Almost no wind, but there were tiny waves on the sandbar - just enough to make it worth going out, great fun.

An enjoyable sail in the pond at Calshot.

Went for yet more kit demo-ing at Solent Sailboards. Tried out my new(ish) 6.5 sail on a different mast, compared it to an old 7m sail. Hmmmm, dither, dither, dither.

Wind was a bit gusty and not really enough, planing some of the time. Went for run a couple of runs on the sea, better wind but too off-shore for my liking.

A pleasant sail, until the rain came down...

Wavey fun at Hayling.

SE wind, so excellent fun playing in the small waves on the sandbar. A good sail until I ran out of energy.
