Poole on 13/11/11

Rating:3 star rating
Board:101 litres
Sail:6.6

Poole harbour cruisin, very pleasant.

Not wildly exciting, but plenty of wind at Hamworthy

Christchurch on 11/11/11

Rating:4 star rating
Board:101 litres
Sail:5.5

Brilliant blast in Christchurch harbour.

Turned up at avon beach - it looked grim, onshore wind and high tide mush. So I went round to the harbour, where I found most of the locals. Had an excellent time, well powered up on 5.5

Hayling Island on 02/11/11

Rating:3 star rating
Board:85 litres
Sail:4.7

Fun sail at Hayling. A bit short, I meant to get there early - but failed. Quit when it got a bit too lumpy.

Hayling Island on 24/10/11

Rating:4 star rating
Board:101 litres
Sail:5.5

Excellent sail at Hayling - definitely the best this year.

SE wind meant it was easy to get out to the bar, once out there it was just so much fun, jumping, riding.
Ain't Autumn brilliant...

Hayling Island on 22/10/11

Rating:3 star rating
Board:101 litres
Sail:6.6

Lovely sail at Hayling.

Arrived around 3pm to gloomy reports of wind dropped, too light now, but I thought it looked ok.

I had an excellent sail, a bit onshore and a bit light but the super swell made up for it. Planing almost all the time. Only Me, Mike T and half a dozen others out.

Lee on Solent, Hillhead & Stokes Bay on 17/10/11

Rating:2 star rating
Board:101 litres
Sail:5.5

A challenging sail at Hillhead.

Wind was increasing all the time. I started on 5.5 but was way overpowered, gave it more downhaul, etc, but still overpowered. Gave up after an hour, decided to go round to Roger R for a cup of tea, very pleasant.

As I left the beach, around 4:30, people were going out on 4m.

Cornwall on 07/10/11

Rating:4 star rating
Board:101 litres
Sail:4.7

Daymer Bay, best sail of the year.Never seen waves like this at Daymer Bay, unbelievable. Better still, I sailed them and really enjoyed it, now I want more waves.

Daymer Bay is in an estuary, which effectively gives three separate wave sailing areas: the bay itself, the mouth of the estuary (biggest waves) and the other side of the estuary. Most of the real wave heads sailed the mouth of the estuary, so there was only me and one or two others in the bay. Waves were not big but just so so long, with perfect cross on wind. Never really tried wave sailing before but it just seemed so easy to sail in from the side and pick a wave.

Lee on Solent, Hillhead & Stokes Bay on 25/09/11

Rating:2 star rating
Board:101 litres
Sail:6.6

After much pondering of forecasts, decided to go for Hillhead. Met John G on the beach. It was ok in a planing sort of blobbing sort of way, would have been better with a bigger board, must check ebay again.

Lee on Solent, Hillhead & Stokes Bay on 21/09/11

Rating:4 star rating
Board:101 litres
Sail:5.5

Excellent day at Hillhead.

Went out on 5.5, which was slightly overpowered, but board and sail both felt really good, so stuck with it and had a fantastic afternoon. Stopped for a while, thinking the wind would drop in the evening, but it just picked up more, should have changed down, but I was too tired (and lazy). Another really really good day at illead.
