Wow, where did that come from? Maxed out on a 4.7 at Lepe.

We had planned to sail Avon Beach, but it all looked a bit desperate there around 11am. Wind was going offshore and dropping, people struggling on 5.8s. I decided to look in at Lepe, to find sunshine, heaps of wind and lots out on the water.

My new 93l board and 4.7 was just right to begin with. The confused Solent chop was much bigger than normal, which all came as a bit of a shock after 2 days of harbour cruising, but fantastic fun. Packed up around 3:30 when the 4.7 was just tooo much.

Alos tried out the new Lepe cafe, very impressive new building and great views, but fairly mediocre food & service.

Another excellent afternoon in Christchurch Harbour (actually, even excellenter than yesterday)

Plenty of wind again, really nice day. Only two of us out for the first hour or so, although that probably had something to do with the slight lack of water, but all good in the end.

An excellent sail in Christchurch Harbour.

Plenty of wind, sunshine and only a few out on the water. Brilliant afternoon just blasting across the harbour.

Not as windy as we hoped, just about planing on 6.5. BUT, so what, a really really good time, great fun being out on a warm day, sailing with friends.

Personally, I had a much more enjoyable sail on Saturday, when I was playing around with big board and very small sail in the "pond"

An excellent summer weekend at Calshot with all the usual crew

Another fun day in Christchurch harbour.

A fairly brief sail. Basically, worn out from yesterday. But great fun, sailing with the freestylin crowd.

Excellent sail in Christchurch harbour.

After months and months of no wind, I finally flet like I'd got back in to it properly. Great to just blast across the harbour.

After I packed up, I went round to look at the beach - Saturday and good forecast meant it was very busy, most out on 5m. Good fun to watch

Very enjoyable sail at Avon Beach

The old FSW and 5.8 were just right. There was a bit of SW topped sea breeze up nicely by the sea breeze. Only myself and 2 or 3 locals out on the water. Perfect. Although wind went a bit offshore later on.

Fantastic friday fun at Hayling.

South-easterly and F4. The 5.8 and 100 litre was possibly a bit light, but just so much fun, playing in the small waves and flat water on the sand bar. The SE direction is definitely the best for Hayling.

First sail of the year, a perfect start to the season. Met up with Heather and Bill, so it was great fun both on and off the water.

A gentle session in Christchurch Harbour.

The usual crew rigged for a low-wind sail twiddling session. North-westerly wind so very gusty, but I just caught a few gusts and had a couple of planing runs (so that means I can claim it as a diary entry). First sail for ages, so good to be out again.

An enjoyable sail in Christchurch harbour

Not a lot of wind, just about enough for me. Not exciting but just a really nice simple session.
