Blame the wife for this one... I didn't have any good windsurfing shots I'm afraid.

Took the day off for a "family day out at the seaside" as the wind looked like it had potential. Arrived at the beach at about 12:00 and was surprised to see a couple of guys out pretty powered-up on 5.5ish sails. As the wind was forecast to peak later, I foolishly took my time and had a cup of tea before rigging up. Once out on the water I had about half an hour of good sailing before the wind dropped. For the rest of the day the wind was tantalisingly close to being usable, but never quite delivered. Still, wife and kiddies enjoyed the ice creams and sandcastles on the beach.

Went out for one last run at the end of the day, only to find that the wind had dropped too low for water starting when I got out there. Spent a few minutes trying to get up, and eventually got back to the beach to be greeted by a lifeguard who was about to come out and rescue me! I felt guilty as uphauling was a perfectly feasible option pride had prevented me from taking, but hopefully they were just looking for some action on a very quiet day...

It was good to meet Jonathan and Carl though - hope to meet more of you in the future.

Don't leave your helmet in the van!

I too had a great afternoon in Poole harbour - sunny and well powered up on a 6m.

I learnt the painful lesson that if you have a helmet, it's not much use in the van!
