First sail with my new 5.3 Naish Session sail. Really noticed the difference and how much easier it was to get planing. Water not too cold either

First time on such a small board and with no dagger board. Water in Poole harbour was quite choppy and the wind was dying from the moment I got out. Quite a struggle getting balance for first 15 mins but better after that.

Went upwind with no dagger board which I was pleased with and 1 successful gybe.

Great sail in pretty constant wind. My planning is gettting better and now think it is time to get a slightly bigger sail. In and out of harness ok - so next step foot straps.

Beach starts went ok and had a couple in almost chest height water - very pleased with myself. Water starts still seem to be an impossible action.

Some guys out screaming along and carve gybing at will - that is where I want to be.

First time out for a couple of weeks, so the wind decided to drop as soon as the tide came up.

Great hour and a quarter on the water if a little exhausting. Force 4/5 and lots of chop. Five or six planning runs (out of the harness). One perfect run. Locked out body and arms, body low and forward, sail raked back - AMAZING.

Need to work on gybes and sailing down wind in strong winds.

Also one great water start.

Out for an hour and 1/4. Couple of planning runs. Getting used to harness. Still can not seem to stay off the wind when in the harness. Little bit more comfortable in the harness (getting in and out). Need a bigger sail

Lesson with mark on using the harness. Very gusty and only spent an hour or so out on the water as we were both feeling rough
