Ok initially- although a little overpowered and over 'waved' (Im so used to flat water at Portland Harbour)- did about 6 runs then my boom clamp broke. Tried to fix/tie it on but couldnt- so sat on board and waited for Lawrence to sail past and help me. Waited and waited and waited- after about an hour and having drifted towards sand bar- another helpful sailor helped me (he couldnt tie it out at water either- so he managed to get it to shore where he strapped it up and sailed it back to me. By this time I was able to touch the floor and saw Lol looking for me- plus needed loo- so walked back whilst Lol sailed kit back. Need to get a new boom now as the broken one was my mk boom that fitted all my sails.

Ok sail in morning till overpowered. Managed 1 carve gybe- but messed rest up. Better sail in afternoon- did another carve gybe .. then wind started to die. Nice to be sailing in favourite venue, plus great takeaway with everyone. Thanks to parents for childcare!!

Fun though mostly overpowered- wind at ave 27 knots!! Sea was more lumpy than Im used to, and found that when returning to shore in footstraps- I went so fast I was scared!! Had probs with harness lines too long and unadjustable - so kept coming out of harness. However- it was a fun hour on the water- stretching my limits and with a great cup of tea (thanks Mike) and pizza afterwards. Thanks to Lol for rigging and de-rigging again for me!!

Fantastic sail from small bay near my parents place on Portland harbour. Managed to rig by myself (Lawrence at work!!)- which nowadays is a novelty- and blasted straight out across the harbour. Rig felt perfect- planning very comfortably in my favourite venue. Managed 2 hours until my arms and hands gave up (not used to windsurfing at the moment!!). Also managed one gybe without falling in!! Fingers crossed there's wind for the bank holiday weekend as I cant wait to get out again. Cheers to parents for having my kids!! Wind ave 20 knots

Ummmm- not as good a sail as yesterday- also- struggled with waterstarting the 8 with a board that was a little small!! Planed at first- but then wind dropped so struggled to sail upwind back to beach. Uphauling was fun - with the board underwater!!
However- had a great day- nice to see the sun and chat to friends. Great to meet new members (Hi Graham and Lisa), and all topped up with an excellent meal at the Turks Head.
Thanks to everyone who made it to Weymouth this weekend- it was a great event and Lol and I really enjoyed hosting it.

First outing on new RRD board- really like it- although getting used to 15l less than old board. Using Lawrences sail - had some great blasts along Portland harbour. Attempted to carve gybe but not getting anywhere (need further lesson about how to carve gybe - thanks Duncan). Best part was not getting out of depth at any point- so falling in didnt matter as much. Wind picked up towards the end of my sail- so I struggled a little- then decided to finish.
Great to see so many friends at the beach- and huge thanks for the food and childcare from my parents!!

Fantastic to get out for first time this year- and I really love Portland Harbour. My personal riggerupper rigged up for me (whilst I sat in the van keeping warm!!)- and then I blasted out into the harbour. Forgot to check my harness lines- so got arm ache on way back- which coupled with the cold- wasnt that pleasant. However- did quite a few runs- half heartedly attempted a carve gybe- fell in lots- but as lowish tide- was only waist deep most of the time.
Decided that I loved windsurfing- especially in Portland harbour (added bonus of childcare thanks to my parents)- so will go down there as much as possible.
Last time on my faithful F2 Air- as have just bought a RRD Freestyle Wave 100l- cant wait to get out on it....

Great to be on water- first time this year in the UK. Used Lols kit (as usual- this will now be common due to us swapping with childcare). Nearly got round carve gybes!!(getting closer). Found the small board and big rig quite hard to control at times- particularly on outward runs. Only sailed a short time as tide was dropping, didnt want to damage lols fin- or walk too far at end!!
Great weekend away!!
